Underground Mining Engineer
Fairmount Santrol has an immediate opening for an Underground Mining Engineer at its industrial sand plant in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin.
Evaluate, implement and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of industrial sand products
Create, edit and maintain necessary documentation including process flow drawings
Equipment calibration and maintenance monitoring
Manage expansion projects and coordinate engineering and construction activities
Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technician and operating personnel
Work closely with other specialists for quality control of raw materials
Assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes
Mine planning and design, ventilation surveying, ground control surveying, mapping, power and drainage controls
BS Degree in Mining Engineering
Experience in underground operations
Minimum of 3 years of experience
Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new processing developments
Good written and verbal communication
Self-motivated, hands on individual with keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills who can follow written/verbal instruction and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
